WHAT'S NEW IN SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT:

What’s New in Software Development?

  • A new program that generates an automatic Title 19 entry when a Special Incident Report (SIR) is submitted, was designed to help busy Service Coordinators document units of service when they complete an SIR. This feature will be added to other areas of SANDIS in the near future.
  •

  • It is now possible to print PDF documents directly from many SANDIS applications, including the Annual Cost Statement, Appointment Schedules and Vendor Status Notification.
  •

  • The Service Provider Portal now includes new options for reports available to Service Providers. Certain reports now have a Print option, and some even have the ability to email the data in Excel format to the Service Provider. In addition, automated emails are sent to the vendors to notify them that forms are available for download.

  • Medicaid Waiver enhancements include showing billable service usage on forms, regional tracking reports for potential consumers and for consumers on waiver, and a new capability for identifying “disqualifiers” to help Federal Program staff when reviewing potential candidates for waiver.
  •

  • The SANDIS POS Request Program is now in full swing to handle multiple services. The POS Request and Auth Change Request screens now have a button that displays approval information at a glance, including who approved at which level and when. The Authorization Change Request program can now be used to produce an authorization printout even if there is no change pending.

  • Finally, several SANDIS programs were recently updated with the program feature that helps out when staff try to get into the same record in the system.

Once the POS installation is complete, each of these RCs are anticipated to make use of the POS Bridge application. SANDIS provides the computer data information retrieval system used throughout the state of California at the 21 Regional Centers. This system allows for standardization of process and data reporting to the California Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDS).

More than 20 years ago, San Diego-Imperial Counties Developmental Services Inc. (SDICDSI) developed SANDIS Solutions with the aid of two federal grants. Their mandate was to provide a computerized information system to assist in case management and services being provided to children with developmental disabilities.

(SDICDSI) is a California non-profit, publicly supported corporation and 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization.
